Neurogastroenterology and Motility 2009 International Meeting 

The 2009 Neurogastroenterology and Motility Joint International meeting to be held August 27–30, 2009 in Chicago, Illinois.

The topics and speakers for this meeting will discuss cutting-edge research that focuses on disease mechanisms, diagnosis, and treatment of disorders involving gastrointestinal neuromuscular function. Particular attention has been placed on the rapidly developing field of research that focuses on brain–gut interactions. This meeting will set the stage to improve our understanding of the physiology and pathophysiology of neuromuscular behavior in the gastrointestinal tract and the brain–gut axis.

Course Overview: The New Advances in Inflammatory Bowel Disease course will highlight the latest concepts relating to the pathophysiology of IBD and examine the latest diagnostic techniques and various treatment options for patients living with the disease. The course will be taught by nationally known experts who are actively involved in clinical trials and studies related to the management and treatment of IBD. The course will offer practical, evidence-based information for physicians to implement in their own practice to improve the quality of life for their afflicted patients.
